Schwarzman Scholars are selected from an international pool of distinguished candidates. Prospective Scholars are expected to demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional results in their field and outstanding leadership qualities.

Requirements
Our cohort of global leaders reflects the diversity, vibrancy and promise of the world at large. Schwarzman Scholars embrace the opportunity to understand other cultures, perspectives and positions. Candidates who are most qualified to meet the high demands of the program must exhibit excellence in the following areas:
● Leadership skills
● Strong character and honesty
● High academic ability and clear thinking

● Open thinking and new ideas
● Entrepreneurial action
● Applicants must show clear examples of these traits through the application.
● Applicants must complete all degree work before 1 August of the year they join.
● All fields of study are welcome.
● Applicants must clearly explain how joining the Schwarzman Scholars Program will grow their leadership in their area.
● Applicants must be aged 18 to 28 by 1 August 2026.
● Strong English is a must because all teaching is in English.
● Applicants who do not have English as a first language must show a test score.
● Accepted tests and minimum scores are:
• TOEFL: 100
• IELTS: 7
• Cambridge C1 or C2: 185
• Duolingo English Test: 130
Those who studied for two years or more in English at the undergraduate or higher level do not need a test score.
